Be swept out of your chair on a journey through history and fantasy, across exotic lands and to galaxies far, far away as these joined forces fill the historic Warner Grand Theatre with breathtaking music from: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Avatar, Saving Private Ryan, Edward Scissorhands, Independence Day, First Knight, Empire of the Sun, Agnus Dei (a choral setting of Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber) and The Abyss. GSPO will be reprising the popular concert Tale as Old as Time featuring screen film clips from favorite Disney Classics such as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Mulan and song selections A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, Bella Notte, Part of your World, and Beauty and the Beast sung by four soloists with narration. Tale as Old as Time is the story of hopes and dreams, meeting strangers, developing friendships, finding true love and living happily ever after.

San Pedro Chamber names GSPO Business of the Year

The orchestra has been chosen as San Pedro Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Business of the Year and will be honored at the Chamber's Annual Luncheon Awards Ceremony at the DoubleTree Hotel on June 9.

GSPO founder and artistic director, Steven Allen Fox, was euphoric upon hearing the news. "That is superb! Thank you to everyone for all you do to make GSPO what it has become." GSPO's executive director, Linda Grimes added "We are really thrilled."
